Prototype tried to compete with InFamous but struggled due to the games repeatative nature and lack of story telling oomph, however in 2012 we will be treated to a sequel – one of which we hope that all of the failings of the original can be corrected to gel one hell of a game. Prototype had real promise and this trailer shows that it still can compete with the big boys, we’ve got quite a wait but we’re looking forward to it already. Are you?

Released almost 4 years ago, Oblivion was one of my favourite games I had on my 360 and I probably put more hours into it than any other game I had. Yesterday, Bethesda Softworks released a new in-game trailer for its follow-up; Skyrim. Particularly impressive are the forest environments and snowy flyby’s (especially the scattering of the birds). The trailer seems to indicate that fighting dragons is going to be a focal point of the game..

EA packs in a heavy hitting trailer fro Alice: Madness Returns a return to a game that took the world of Alice in Wonderland and turned it upside down on it’s head. The return of the franchise is eagerly awaited by many of the original release fans. One thing is for sure, Alice: Madness Returns could very well be another freaky delve into the rabbit hole.

STORYLINE

At the dawn each new millennium, Astrolunia sees its Moon die and the world is thrown out of balance. The goal of the game is to safely loft a new moon to take its place in the heavens. It may sound simple enough, but, well, like all good physics games, the challenges in store for you will keep you coming back for more time and again.

A Moon for the Sky is a pick up and go game, fun to play either when you have a few minutes to kill, or to take on the 18 level saga. The game has two qualities that make it very addictive to play: it’s simple and it’s aggravating.

As you progress through the 18 fun levels you find more and more obstacles around which you have to maneuver through to secure the new moon into its orbit. Crytek’s upcoming first-person shooter, Crysis 2, just got a new trailer that details what’s included in the Limited Edition version of the game.

The Crysis 2 Limited Edition, available at he same price as the regular edition, features four in-game unlocks aimed at improving the multiplayer experience. The trailer shows off what you will have instantly unlocked and how each bonus could be best put to use in a multiplayer session.

SEGA announced today that we will all get a taste of the fast paced sci-fi 3rd person shooter Vanquish, on August 31 on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live. The demo, entitled Velocity Attack, plays out on a massive Russian space station where players will take on waves of killer robots, have the chance to hijack some giant mechs called “Walkers,” and battle against a boss named Argus.

The few bits of gameplay I have seen for Vanquish since E3 look very promising. But as SEGA has a spotty record, to say the least, I am eager to check out the demo to help make a decision as to whether this game is worth my money.

Today, Treyarch has decided to tease all of us with a wee glimpse of the multiplayer action we all will take part in once Black Ops ships this November. One really cool thing I noticed when watching this was at the very end, the screen sort of jumps around and shows something for just a second. You have to pause it at just the right moment to be able to analyze it, and from what I gather it seems Treyarch has decided to include the ability to record your matches so you can share and edit all your best moments from the game. Something else has been revealed as well, a three killstreak which allows you to take control of a RC vehicle that is strapped with C4! Sounds like a lot of fun to me. Now, watch this trailer, and get out your drool guard for the keyboard.

An all-new Medal of Honor gameplay/live action trailer directed by Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn. The trailer features never-before-seen in-game footage set to the band’s first single ‘The Catalyst’ from their soon to be released album, A Thousand Suns.

Medal of Honor promises to be one of the biggest games of the year and looks to move in on Activsion’s territory by hopefully stealing some holiday sale numbers. Pretty big pair of balls by EA if you ask me. This is something a lot of game developers refuse to do now which is why in this year specifically we saw an amazing surge in game sales at the beginning of the year and an increase in the quality of games coming out in the early months. There aren’t that many gaming news items that slip past me, but somehow during E3 this year I failed to hear about an amazing looking game coming from SEGA studios. After Alpha Protocol flopped like a fat man in a swimming pool, I was skeptical to say the least about the prospect of Vanquish looking as good as it does. The action looks fast paced in what I can only best describe as a hybrid of Mass Effect and Gears of War with just a twist of Transformers. But what am I telling you for, have a look for yourself.

Huge news for Basketball fans – Michael Jordan will be playable in sexy High Definition this October when NBA 2K11 is released. The Jordan Challenge game mode will have you reliving 10 of Jordan’s most famous matches and attempting to replicate them with the man himself. Sign me up! Check out the teaser video below:

Codemasters are back to give us more insight on their upcoming Formula 1 game. We are now shown how they render all of the cars and tracks, making them look as realistic as possible. There’s plenty of gameplay footage to be seen so make sure you check out the video below.

The famous Cliff Bleszinski was back at E3 last night to show us the first gameplay footage of the highly anticipated Gears of War 3, which is due to be released in April next year. The footage of the game shows 4-player co-op action in play and how you have to work together in order to complete the scenario, along with a few new enemies. I must say though, I’m slightly dissapointed due to the game looking way too similar to Gears of War 2 for my liking. Decide for yourself by checking out the footage below:

The evil folks at Polyphony Digital are back to tease us once more with another Gran Turismo 5 trailer. The game is looking as gorgeous as ever and as you expected, the trailer does not announce a release date. Maybe at E3? We doubt it…

YES! I’m personally a huge fan of the old-school 2D Mortal Kombat games and easily rate them as the best fighting games ever. The announcement trailer below shows us the latest game in the legendary series is going back to the 2D style which made the game famous and bringing back some retro characters. By the looks of it, there will be tons of new combos and most importantly Fatalities to play around with. I simply can’t wait to learn more at E3.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3, will take place from June 14 to June 17 this year and will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The E3 Expo is where all the major game developers and publishers get together and show off their upcoming work, with major announcements often being made. So what can we expect to see this year? Many of the games featured at E3 have already had trailers released to bring extra attention to the games before the big event, and of course we have them uploaded here at WeDoTech.
