Sleek and minimalist, the iPhonic offers smooth and superior sound quality, adding a new audio dimension to your device. The compact speaker dock doubles as a recharge station ensuring your iPhone or iPod is always fully juiced. Lightweight and easy to use, the iPhonic can also be used with other audio players

Our Review

When using this device you realise that the manufacturers spent alot of time thinking about the rounded, hitech design elements. It is exactly how described “Sleek, Minimalist and Smooth”, offering consumers a practical charging solution for their iphones and ipods. The speaker quality is not as superior as the previously reviewed Edifier unit however it still packs a punch and stands out above many of its competitors.

Compact & stylish minimalist design

Rich, vibrant sound that takes your iPhone or iPod audio to another level

Plays music, but also recharges your device

Allows hands-free use of your iPhone or iPod

Features auxiliary jack for use with other MP3 players

2 year manufacturer’s warranty

Compatible with: All iPhones, iPod Nano all generations, iPod Touch all generations, iPod Classic all generations, iPod Video all generations, iPod Shuffle all generations, all MP3 players

When using the iPhonic unit I noticed a couple of flaws;
1) The manufacturer boasts handsfree use of your iphone or ipod yet there is no remote control with this device.
2) On a few occasions when placing my iPhone onto the device my playlist started to play automatically. (This scared the living day lights out of me one night at 2am let me tell you!)

All in all the iPhonic dock resembles many other well thought out docking stations. If you are looking for a device that looks the part then at approximately £45 to £50 you cannot go wrong.

What Phosphor Say:

An oversized time display and graphical calendar ensuring you always know the time and date with this watch.

An elegant curved watch case houses a distinctive digital display that fits comfortably on your wrist. The bright, high contrast E Ink electronic paper display insures readability day or night and allows you to select between differing watch dial modes to match whatever style fits your mood.

Case width: 38.0mm

Edge thickness: 8.0mm

Overall case thickness: 12.5mm

Water resistance: 5 ATM – 50m

Display: 12 hour only

How E ink Works:

Electronic ink is a proprietary material that is processed into a film for integration into electronic displays. Revolutionary in concept, electronic ink is a fusion of chemistry, physics and electronics to create this new material. The principal components of electronic ink are millions of tiny microcapsules, about the diameter of a human hair. In one incarnation, each microcapsule contains positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid. When a positive electric field is applied, the white particles move to the top of the microcapsule where they become visible to the user. This makes the surface appear white at that spot. At the same time, an opposite electric field pulls the black particles to the bottom of the microcapsules where they are hidden. By reversing this process, the black particles appear at the top of the capsule, which now makes the surface appear dark at that spot.

To form an E Ink electronic display, the ink is printed onto a sheet of plastic film that is laminated to a layer of circuitry. The circuitry forms a pattern of pixels that can then be controlled by a display driver. These microcapsules are suspended in a liquid “carrier medium” allowing them to be printed using existing screen printing processes onto virtually any surface, including glass, plastic, fabric and even paper. Ultimately electronic ink will permit most any surface to become a display, bringing information out of the confines of traditional devices and into the world around us.

Visit E Ink’s homepage (www.eink.com) to learn more about this exciting technology.

What WeDoTech Say:

The Phosphor calendar watch is my new best friend. It’s an eye catcher and if you are someone like me who loves to grab the attention of those passers by this is definately a watch for you. Yes, its got a big display and yes its a heavy mofo but believe you me its a stylish brand with a lot to boast about.

Setting up the time and date was easy, simply following the instructions I was able to set the watch up within a couple of minutes and bammm away I went to show off my newest piece of technology.

Simply pressing the bottom right button you can switch between the Calander and Time. You can also have a positive or negative display with this what I mean is you can have a black screen with white writing or a white screen with black writing.

I have only 1 criticism, this is when it is 12 o’clock the 1 in the number 12 becomes really small as though the watch finds it difficult to allow 2 full sized characters on one line.

There are 3 different styles of this watch. 1 with a leather strap, 1 with a Polyuethane strap and another with a stainless steel band. These range in price from £125 to £170 depending on the style with the stainless steel band being the most expensive.

I love this watch, you can show it off at any occasion, in the pub, at work or even in bed with a potential partner. its stylish, eye catching and a watch that gives the impression that you have alot of money.

I give this watch an 4.2 out of 5. What do you think?

Apple holds an emergency press conference and theres all of us thinking they might have fixed the stupid signal problem within there new iphone unit. NOT!

Most of us would have brought the new iphone for its slick slim looks and ultra fast capabilities but if you were told that you now had to conseal the phone in a stupid bumber case you just wouldn’t believe it, would you?

Well, it’s time to start believing because Apple have done just this by saying to purchasers of its unit “You’ll be able to order a free case from Apple’s website soon, and if you have already bought one of the £25 bumpers, you can apply for a full refund. However, if you bought a third party case not made by Apple, no refund for you”.

The Bumper case comes in 6 different colours but warning stocks are running low!

After all he was probably the man that got you into gaming in the first place right? Yes, if he was cool enough. I wanted to share you my Top 10 Fathers Day gifts, because without my dad, I don’t think I’d ever be passionate about videogames to the extend I am now. He unleashed me to the power of the Atari 520 ST FM back in 1989 and I’ve been playing games ever since I was four years old. So, this one is for you Dad! (List is in no particular order)

10. Speedlink Competition Pro Joystick with 99 C64 Games

The chances are, your old man is down with the retro goodness. For many of you, your father can only handle 2 buttons at most. So what better than a throwback with one of the best Joysticks of all time, the Competition Pro and to throw more value at you it comes bundled with a CD-ROM full of 99 C64 games! The joystick is a ‘joy’ to use as we have one here at the office. It brings back the memories tenfold.

9. Conrad Retro Ping Pong Game Kit

This is a fantastic ice breaker. The Conrad Retro Ping Pong Game Kit is a fantastic novelty piece that will bring back a flurry of memories. Not only can you play the original Pong game, you get to build the video game console from scratch with all the pieces and a handy instruction guide. Now that is cool! You can’t get much more retro than that!

8. Galaxy Cosmic Multi Arcade Machine

If you are lucky enough to be working in the city and have more money to piss up the wall than BP then we can offer you a choice that will eclipse every birthday or Christmas present even given to your father. The Galaxy Cosmic features a 28” screen, can be adapted for free or coin play and contains classic games such as Ms Pac Man, Frogger, Donkey Kong and Arkanoid. There is a massive list of games and the architecture can be updated to add more games if necessary. It does come in at over £1000 so it will price out allot of people.

7. Game Over Tea Mug

Rather than a worlds best Dad cup, why not give him something he is more likely to use. The Game Over mug is only £4.99 so is affordable for everyone and comes in a nicely presented cardboard box. There is no special heat image reveal though but it looks damn cool and something I’d happily parade around my PG tips.

6. Nintendo DSi XL

Don’t settle for the Nintendo DS Lite, buy your old man the XL. After all his eye sight is probably as good as George Osborne’s foresight at tackling the deficit. The XL comes with a larger screen and has all the functionality of the DSi, which means internal memory to download classic games off of the Nintendo Shop. You even get an added 3 hours battery life for this model, essential for when your Dad falls asleep with it left on!

5. Sega Megadrive Ultimate Collection

Let’s assume that your Dad has managed to figure out how to use more than a few buttons and has purchased himself a PS3 or Xbox 360. Either that or you are the son/daughter who would allow him to play on your state of the art videogame console. I can think of no better deal than to pick up the Sega Megadrive Collection as a fathers day purchase. The game is sitting pretty at only £10.00 at the moment and that is a steal considering the amount of games you get for the price. It contains over 40 games, including all the Sonics and has the ability to output in 720p so the visuals even look more polished.

4. 42 All-Time Classics

This one comes from experience. I can think of no better game to recommend than 42 All-Time Classics. It’s a DS game which offers local and online play and is an absolute joy to play together. Bonus, only one cartridge needed. You can play Darts, Bowling, Poker, Canasta to name just a few of the 42 classic games that you unlock and play. There is also a scenario mode to give the single-player added life too.

3. Snakebyte Wireless Classic Controller

Old people hate wires. They are very pedantic about wires trawling throughout their house. So with this in mind I am suggesting the Snakebyte Classic Controller as a real viable option for those with a Nintendo Wii in their household. It has great signal, is very comfortable and best of all, you can now go back and buy those N64, SNES and NES games you loved playing as you were growing up and getting your first games consoles. It’s another chance to skool your Dad again!

2. FIFA World Cup 2010

Youlways come together when it comes to the football right? Well, why not take that further and start playing football games together again. EA have done a brilliant job with bringing in the 2-button system to get casual gamers back into playing football games, so it is only natural we suggest this one. This game will bridge the gap between the old and current generation of video gamers. Let the beautiful game commence!

1. Sony PS2 Slim

Did your Dad used to game? Has he been phased out of the arena with too many buttons to press? Or has he been scared by people taunting him because he sucks at Halo? The Sony PS2 Slim is the perfect accompaniment to getting your fathers back into gaming. It’s super cheap now, the games are in abundance and the wealth of choice is more than enough to provide at least 20-30 games that he’ll enjoy. What’s more, once he gets used to the PS2 he’ll be able to jump straight into Xbox 360 and PS3 games as the control set-up will be familiar to him. It’s an instant buy!

That rounds up our choices, we’d naturally like to hear your comments on what you thought, what suggestions you would come up with and indeed what did you get your Dad for fathers day this year? Let us know in the comments below or register to our forum and get involved in our community.

“Snazzy Looking, Award Winning Product”.

Yes, that is right… we have found not only a snazzy looking portable FM radio but one that packs the punch against its competitors with, in built internet radio capabilities.

Picking up a prestigious ‘iF’ product design award, there is no question that this product is a top quality, compact yet powerful device. With the potential of picking up over 12,000 internet radio stations you can relax with the peace of mind that wherever you are in the world, as long as you can connect to the internet you will be able to listening to your favourite radio broadcasts. Not that you would want to listen to Chris Moyles when you are relaxing on a beach in Spain or Johnny Vaughn when you are sunning it up in Egypt. But, whatever tickles your fancy you can pick and choose and listen to the type of radio show that you want to listen to. If you are not in a Wifi hot spot, don’t worry! The product has an inbuilt FM receiver too.

The unit looks really good, and sounds remarkable for something of its size. It boasts 4.5w speakers which sound good however where the unit is so small, when up full volume I found that the unit vibrated and I almost had a broken unit after it went for a walk of its own across the table and onto the floor. (Don’t worry, it survived!) Top Tip; put it on a cushion or uneven surface so it cannot break free.

The visual display is easy to understand and using the scrolling wheel control system you are sure to be able to get your unit set up within minutes without any problems. Usually small units like this are hard to set up and hard to understand, honestly… it’s that easy my grandmother who is a technophobe could do it. The unit supports both 64 and 128 bit Wifi security keys and unlike other units inputting the security key takes no more than a minute.

The unit displays the radio station that you are listening to and the quality that it is being broadcasted. The great thing with this internet radio is that you can pick the country/language you want to listen to and the genre for example pop & rock. Again, when you are not connected to the internet through Wifi you can listen to local stations using the FM receiver. I was mightily impressed that this small device with no visible aerial could pick up local and even national radio stations with ease and the quality of sound, although you can clearly hear the difference between digital and analogue was still very impressive.

When speaking with and demonstrating this unit to my friends and family it is clear that majority of them were happy and amazed by this product. 1 thing to feedback was that for people without wireless internet unfortunately there isn’t a CAT5 input for users to be able to plug there internet router directly into the device. This in my eyes is not a massive issue as majority of ISP’s now provide wireless routers and more and more homes, offices and hotels worldwide are relying on wireless internet.

The unit can charge up being plugged in to any USB socket and also comes with a selection of universal adapters so you know your unit can be charged up wherever you are in the world. When charging or in use it lights up a multitude of colours. All the buttons on the unit are clearly marked and cleverly they have added a “lock unit” switch which means you can’t stupidly knock any buttons when you have the unit in your pocket.

The Sovos portable radio isn’t a necessity but if you like your radio and want to enjoy it wherever you are in the world this unit is definitely something worth a purchase. Don’t confuse this unit with DAB radio as DAB radio although very good doesn’t give you access to over 12,000 stations like this.

This year alone we have reviewed quite a few DVD players, one from Sovos, one from Next Click and now is the turn of the Coby 7. For intensive purposes all of these DVD players are really for those that are on the move, those that have laborious car journey’s to make and want to keep their kids entertained in the process. The Coby from the off looks like a really nice product, with its sleek shiny black facia giving it a modern look it already scores brownie points as it’s a damn fine looking device. One of the biggest draws with the Coby 7 in comparison to other DVD players we have reviewed this year is down to the fact that they are ultra portable. These 7″ players are small and compact and can be taken anywhere in theory, even if your use resided outside of the car itself. What we like especially about the Coby 7 is the fact it has DivX support, not many of these type of players do and it really makes it stand out in the crowd to have this type of codec support. Afterall who wants to take their DVD originals around with them all over the country, I sure as heckfire wouldn’t, DivX support is great as it will enable you to make legal backups of your own DVD’s and you can watch them knowingly that if the discs ever were to get scratched, it’s not a major issue.

Sleek design, guaranteed

Inside the box, the Coby 7″ comes with;

Full Function Remote Control

AV Cable 100-240V

Home charger

Car charger

Car Cassette Adapter

2 Stereo Earbuds

Twin Headrest Mounting Bags

Rechargeable Battery

There are quite a few leads to set up this device as opposed to other versions on the market, but it’s so easy you wouldn’t require anyone to fit them for you. The DVD menu has some interesting features too, the ability to put parental controls onto them are a godsend and the anti-skip detection doesn’t go a miss either, especially if for some random reason you decide to go off roading, okay that maybe stretching it a little far. JPEG, MP3, DVDR+/RW are all supported as well as the already mentioned coveted DivX, so you are getting quite allot of support there. Obviously having one DVD player magically play it on two screens is quite a quirky feature and we were quite surprised how it was made possible by the device, there simply is no need for a second copy of a DVD to get immersed into the action. Sound is adequate, not the best around but more than acceptable and if we were to critisise this DVD player in anyway it would be down to the fact that the second screen will not run when the Coby 7 is running on batteries, a shame. The DVD player kit runs at around £130.00 currently and that’s not a shabby price, there are certainly more expensive models around that perhaps off you a more safety secure kit, such as the NextClick but if that isn’t your main priority then the Coby 7 is a good shout for your money. For more information on this product why not check out Coby Electronics online

The Skullcandy brand is recognised as one of the leading competitors in the headphone market. They boast an immense range of top-selling headphones that have set the market alive since the creation of the company in 2003. Focusing centrally on the extreme sports and music industries, Skullcandy have sponsored known performers like Snoop Dogg and Metallica. The Skullcandy products have a large appeal with the sheer variety of their headphones meaning there is a set for everyone. Following on from the success of the Turtle Beach line of gaming headsets for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Skullcandy have stepped out of their comfort zone to try and crack the ever-competitive gaming headset market.

At £49.99 (RRP; I’ve seen them going for £44.99 online) the sGs GI’s cost more than the critically acclaimed Turtle Beach X1’s. Taking on a successful product by charging more is a brave move for Skullcandy, but why are they more expensive? The answer is simple; Music. All of Skullcandys headphones are known for their excellent sound quality and the sGs GI’s are no different. As well as pumping the Xbox 360’s in-game sound through its 40mm power drivers, the GI’s can plug into any MP3 player, iPod, stereo or PC to play music. This is a great feature which really expands the products capabilities gives potential buyers another reason to part with their cash.

The sound quality is incredible and the headphones truly squeeze every last drop of power from the 40mm drivers. Fortunately, the in-game sounds from your Xbox 360 offer just the same magnificent quality as that of the music. The headset splits the sound so an explosion on your left is heard through your left speaker, allowing you to track your enemy in online games such as the Call of Duty series. It really does give you a ridiculous advantage as an enemy sneaking to your right can be scouted and killed as they wonder how you knew where they were. This feature is probably the main reason for console gamers buying these headsets as they’re vital for participating in any gaming tournament.

Comfort is vital when deciding which headset is worth your money. The sGs GI’s creators obviously realised this and haven’t let themselves down. I have always found that when I wear on-ear headphones my ears feel strained after about an hour’s use. Skullcandy have been smart and put some very soft padding that cushions the cups of the speakers snugly round your ears, maximising comfort for long-time usage. The speakers themselves are cushioned by a soft layer off padding and can be moved to fit even the biggest and mutated of ears.

Despite all of this padding, the appearance of the headphones still manages to be gorgeous, they look genuinely stunning. Just look at the image below and you can instantly see how sleek the sGs GI’s design truly is. Arctic camouflage surrounds the under-band connecting the two speakers and a sort of denim pattern covers the top. The sides of the speakers are covered with a gleaming reflective black finish with the Skullcandy logo emblazoned in the centre. Some on-ear headphones are simply embarrassing to wear in public but Skullcandy ensure that you’ll look fashionable if you ever take them into the outside world.

As well as looking brilliant, the wiring from the headphones is kept to a minimum, unlike their rivals. Whilst the wired Turtle Beach X1s have an extraordinary amount of cable only necessary if you want to play your game from across the street, the sGs GI’s wiring is only long enough for a TV-soft gaming session. There is still enough wire to play a game from a considerable distance but the lower length allows the wiring to sit tidily and if an extension is required then extra cable can be purchased.

However, all is not perfect with this headset. Bizarrely, rather than utilize the good-quality mic and transmit voice through that using a separate channel, the sGs GI’s mix the voice with the in-game sound. This means that, in the midst of a game with loud noises, it can be excruciatingly difficult to hear teammates speaking. The Turtle Beach range of headsets increase the sound of the voice when in-game sound increases in volume automatically but Skullcandy have forgotten this feature and it genuinely lets the product down. Communication is the key to success for online gaming and it’s near impossible with this method of sound transmission.

As well as this, it can be complicated to set up and the instructions bundled with the headset are useless. Research is required to really figure everything out and, although only slightly annoying, it is an unnecessary problem that Skullcandy should really have sorted out.

Still, if you’re the kind of gamer that doesn’t require a lot of communication with teammates while in a hectic online match then this is the perfect headset. Although it’s a bit pricier than the Turtle Beach range it’s also a hell of a lot comfier and looks incredible. The fact you can use it to listen to music as well means that it got the nod over the Turtle Beach X1 for me but its online speaking flaws meant I only use it when not playing multiplayer.

When you think of portable DVD players, you think of the screen flipping up kind of like a laptop, however modern DVD players have inverted the rule and had the screen where you would imagine the lid would be and that’s a good thing because it compacts everything and makes it look more stylish and presentable. This type of design is especially needed when your going to be using the DVD player for use within the car and that is essentially what the Next Base Click 10 was designed to do. It actually makes the Sovos media player we reviewed not so long back looked surprisingly ugly in comparison. There are some interesting features about the Click 10 which may surprise you, so read on.

When I first heard this DVD player had past European road safety tests, I expected it to look like a giant rubber cube, cumbersome unattractive and generally an eyesore. How wrong I was. This DVD player then can only be described as Carol Vorderman with a seat belt on. It has a certain maturity to it but it’s stylish and sexy and so it should be because your MPV doesn’t look like that at all does it? No, didn’t think so. Thankfully Next Base has come to the rescue and made your car look a little more stylish again. The safety feature obviously is attractive to family owners and it’s a nice touch, even the edges has been rounded so if your child did for some oddball reason decide to head butt the screen, it’s very unlikely they’ll hurt themselves. Secondly, the DVD player has a plastic layering at the front which can with stand abuse and will ensure that if the screen did ever break, no LED’s would come flying towards your face at 100mph. Take a look at the video further down for a full break down of the safety test, it’s intriguing stuff.

Now, you maybe asking about battery life. Well, it’s 2.5hrs which unless you intend on watching Titanic or The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button it will have enough running time for a feature length film. I’d have liked the length to be a little more and subsequently it does stop it from scoring perfect marks, but the rest is absolutely flawless. Firstly, those Next Base wireless headphones will work a charm, you’ll even be able to set the channel filter on, so if you own those babies you’ll have the choice of two streams if you have more than one of the Click 10′s. Secondly this DVD player has a whole wealth of features, i’ll get onto those in a second but the optional extras are impressive alone. The Click & Go is a worthwhile purchase along with the Click 10, mainly because the Click 10 was built for it’s use. The Click & Go connects up to the cigarette lighter of the car to provide the additional battery juice you may need and acts as not only a battery provider for the Click 10 but also it’s lock attachment to a car seat. Is it fiddly? It’s easier than undoing your girlfriends bra, just press down on the back and slide out, simple. Now if only all woman’s bra’s were that easy to take off. Okay, err I shall get back onto being professional shall I? There are two other optional attachments that you can buy for this, the DVT tuner and the FM transmitter. Purely optional and definitely not with the Click 10 by default.

So, what about those other features you do get as a default? Well, if you love your gaming consoles your going to love Next Base. It has an IX connector which means you can connect up your consoles and all manner of electronics to it. Your also going to get a three in one card reader, USB interface for playing music, S-video support and an external headphone socket for the standard bud ear piece. Not bad for approximately £250.00 Wait, did you just say £250.00? Yes, I did. Sure, the price may sound a little steep but trust me it’s worth it. You have a 1W speaker system and a back light LED screen to give you crisp, bright visuals, no matter how dark or bright it is in your car. You don’t even need to use it in your car, it has a flip out stand at the back for ease of use. Perhaps the nicest thing about this DVD player is that it’s region free. How often do we see region free DVD players? Not too often and that was a refreshing change. Dropping back to the aesthetics, it’s leather and metal brush appearance really is nice and the way the DVD is cleverly hidden behind the screen screams build quality more than Pamela Anderson playing with a Tommy Lee dong.

All in all the Click 10 is a neat piece of kit, it doesn’t have as many options as the media players out there, but its road safe and has one heck of a beautiful appearance and for those that like to mix design with family we simply can’t recommend anything else other than the Click & Go series. Damn you look so good!

Dual Channel, Wireless & Stunning

Wireless IR headphones, for many years they have been the bane of the audio world. Even the slightest piece of interference would cause havoc and scratchy audio in the home and if it wasn’t for the radiation causing the problem, the IR signal wouldn’t be strong enough to warrant having wireless in the first place. Yes, admittedly the last time we tried an IR device was a couple of years ago but that’s not the point. Oh and before people say ‘I’ve seen them in pound shops, sounds like a bargain!” don’t bother. You’d have to be a complete fluoride head to even consider doing that.

Introducing then, is the Next Base IR wireless dual channel headphones. They are sturdy, built to last and designed for comfort. Forget spending stupid money on Bose we’ve seen these headphones around online for as little as £25.00 and they are simply phenomenal. Designed for but not just, Next Base systems, these headphones just mark highly in all areas. How do they fare for there initial purpose? Well, firstly you have the dual channel feature, meaning that you can tune into one of two different devices at the same time. This is a great feature, especially if you happen to own multiple car DVD player systems, the flexibility to switch audio at the flick of a button isn’t to taken for granted and whilst for many purchasers this feature wouldn’t be used too heavily, considering the price you can’t argue at having that feature available.

In terms of interference we tried them away from radiation areas such as the home living room and used them in both the home and car environment. In the home space we did find some crackle and fuzz but they were certainly behind the audio of the film, as opposed to layering over it. It didn’t distract from the experience and at no point did it lose connection, nor did the audio levels drop. If anything, it sounded similar to when you hear an audio cassette after the song has finished playing, a slight hissing if you will. Stand these where they are most used (in the car) and the clarity is great, you get the sense that it’s wireless but generally things are more crisper, which is great because your unlikely to use the IR device that much indoors and if you are, then we’re sure you can sacrifice the need of your computer router being on, which often causes the distraction.

Now on to what I love. Bundled with these headphones is a standard audio jack, which will enable you to connect to convention devices without the use of power and this is where ironically these headphones come into their own. I am simply astounded by the audio quality that is on offer. You get the bass, you get the treble, you get the subtle notes that you wouldn’t hear on conventional headphones. We loaded up conversations and you could hear the background ambience you simply wouldn’t pick up on a standard set of buds. As an avid PC gamer, we’ve given these a test on games too and wow, these really draw you in to the game. You don’t feel like you are getting surround sound with Next Base IR headphones but the quality you are getting feels as smooth as a marble kitchen surface, no bumps, no high peaks, just pure immersion. Just why would you spend £300 on a set of headphones when you can buy these and be quite content.

I’m not finished. To pack these headphones away, you can invert them back on themselves to tuck them into a hard resistant case. The case has a hard outer edge to ensure impact with the ground will not affect the headphones. Not only is the case well made, but you are getting comfort of the highest order without the ridiculousness of some whole ear headphones. The Next Base cover the ear nicely but at the same time keeps itself compacted and close to your head. You could wear these for hours and be comfortable, in fact I love them to bits and because of the the jack port they aren’t just an investment for wireless purposes, these are an investment for all purposes. Got an iPhone? We’ve tried it, are you a gamer? We’ve bench tested it and even if you are not remotely interested in the IR side of things, pound for pound these are probably the best headphones that money can buy and that’s not a dramatisation.

We call it a “media player” because you can insert your memory cards or flash drives, watch digital or Analogue TV, pop in a dvd or just keep the kids entertained with the inbuilt games such as Tetris and Suduko to name a few.

The unit comes with a headrest attachment so that you can connect it up in the car, it also comes with the in car charger which plugs in to your cigarette lighter and a universal UK/Euro power adapter which you can use at home, on a train or in a hotel whilst on your holidays.

The Sovos SV085A is a treat. It looks good, it sounds good and it definately packs the punch against its competitors.

It’s hotter than your mum

At WDT we don’t pigeon hole ourselves into just reviewing gadgets, games & films. We also like to delve into the world of sleek household appliances that would simply make your humble abode look orgasmic in a tech & geeky kind of way. So before you wonder why the hell we’re reviewing a kettle, I’d like to go on record and state that you will not see anything reviewed here that looks like a piece of shit, that wouldn’t interest the tech enthusiast. So there is absolutely no chance of us reviewing a George Foreman grill or a fucking doughnut maker.

So entering into the kitchen like a robo-puppy on heat is the Breville VKJ142. As you can see by the pictures, this kettle looks hotter than the person whom slaves away at the stove at your house. Whilst some religions cut off woman’s toes so they can get nearer the kitchen sink, we prefer to make life easier for our intimate other by supplying them with gadgetry that cuts down the time of making a cuppa, making the evening meal so they can eventually sit down and watch Coronation Street. That theory works fine if you have a second TV, because if you haven’t, you’re fucked and your better off buying her a kettle that requires boiling on a gas stove. Anyway, I digress on this Friday afternoon and will get to the point.

The VKJ142 is great. It holds the capacity of 1.5 litres of water which is roughly enough to make five cups of tea and comes with a drip tray in case your retarded enough to supply an espresso cup to the kettle. The rapid boil feature feels like we’ve finally stepped into modernity as boiling a cup’s worth of water literally takes a matter of seconds. Al Gore will be happy too as it’s also Eco Friendly. One of the nicer features of this kettle is the fact that it illuminates blue when boiling, not sure why, perhaps it so deaf people know they are making a drink? Who knows, but it looks nice and that’s what matters.

The kettle has a removable jug which can be topped up easily and its chrome and black plastic design doesn’t feel like it’s been made in a warehouse at ALDI. The lid is also safety locked, so if you have a child with ADHD you can rest assured that your kids won’t be taken away as they won’t be able to scold themselves. The element is also concealed so there is a less chance of lime scale, not that you give a shit about that. You also get a manufacturers warranty of 1 year, but even if the kettle did break down (our unit shows no sign of doing so) they are so cheap at under £40.00 that replacing it is really a no brainer. It is then a piece of aesthetic design, impatience convenience and lights up like a Smurf when it gets hot. How could you even go back to the days of that nasty ass white kettle you bought from Tesco’s for £4.00 sure its economical, but you will look like council scum and you don’t want that to happen. Do you?
