Kick Ass is an awesome film and you should go watch it. Okay, so maybe I should give a couple of reasons why you should first.

Kick-Ass The Graphic Novel

Kick Ass is based off the graphic novel of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. and tells the story of Dave Lizewski and others as they try to become super-hero’s. On his journey he meets other wannabe super-heroes; get’s beaten to a pulp and kicks some ass.

The film pays homage to other well known super-heroes, like spider-man and batman, poking fun at them without necessarily taking the piss. The actors in the film all play there parts well, with the part of Hit-Girl being played expertly by Chloë Grace Moretz and easily stealing the limelight. Other notable appearances from Nicolas Cage and McLovin (aka Christopher Mintz-Plasse) allow the audience to get behind these ordinary people as they try to become super.

The music throughout the film is excellent and fits perfectly with the mood trying to be achieved. The comedy elements are really good and merge excellently with the Action scenes, which in turn are top-notch. Some of these scenes are amazing and the effects used are crazily well shot. A scene near the end memorized me to the point where I actually forgot what movie I was watching, suffice to say don’t watch this film if you have Photo Sensitive Epilepsy. The film is superbly violent and contains strong language from some unexpected places; however the violence and blood are easily ‘stomachable’ due to the comic book nature of the film.

Hit-Girl is Easily the Most Kick-Ass of the Lot

This is easily the best film I’ve seen this year and I’m sure the majority of readers of this website will enjoy it as much as I did; in fact I liked it so much I actually went out and bought the graphic novel. Go see this film!
