It had been rumoured for some time, and finally an inevitable sequel to the Electronic Art’s Dead Space has finally been announced. No release date has been set as off yet, but the original game was released in October 2008; sequels generally take 2 years to be released, so my incredible maths skills are telling me we should expect to see Dead Space 2 heading for a Christmas 2010 release.
Another thing you can expect to see is a host of new weapons, enemies, some zero gravity areas (which sound like ALOT of fun) and of course the return of the originals main character Isaac Clarke. I personally never played the first game due to a Gears of War/Call of Duty addiction but I’m looking forward to giving Dead Space 2 a go and seeing whether EA can develop another solid Horror/Thriller title.
“The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2. “There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”
