Nintendo will still be king until apple gets serious about making games. They need a real IP to compete. They have no mascot like Mario or Master Chief.
While I like the points that you bring up, I still believe that the handheld gaming platform will still continue to exist outside of mobile phones. Primarily within Nintendo, because their architecture for entertainment os built around family with a very youthful core and there is still a large demographic of those users that aren’t of age to have an iPhone or any mobile phone for that matter. I know you could argue the iTouch then, but I still don’t see that either being the device is basically for music & movies, which would require parents to do the “heavy lifting” of purchasing, converting and installing entertainment content to the device. It’s a thought though…
