President of EA Games Label Frank Gibuea recently discussed the successful relaunching of its Need for Speed franchiseduring the company’s investor call this afternoon. Gibeau also added the publisher hopes to continue breathing new life into many of its core blockbuster titles.
“In the months ahead, you’ll hear more about our plans to revitalize core intellectual property, including the Medal of Honor franchise,” Gibeau stated.

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello hinted at the franchise’s rebirth during the company’s investor call this past August, but now it appears it’s a question of ‘when’ not ‘if’ for the once proud World War II shooter franchise.

YES! I adored the Medal of Honor series on the PC and have fond memories of playing Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. The D-day mission on the game was incredible. If EA manage to replicate anything similar to the older games and give the franchise a creditable name, then I’ll be a very happy man. Having said that, it’s going to have to be something special to pry away all of the Call of Duty fans… We shall see.
