games on demand Games on Demand?

So the Games on Demand area on the Xbox 360 has been around for awhile, originally just selling original Xbox games, letting you download games straight to your hard drive. And after an announcement by Major Nelson that Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 are going to be available, it got me wondering, why would anyone buy them? They are currently offered up at £20 a piece through this service, but a quick search on play.com, I found one for half the price brand new, you could probably get that cheaper if you don’t mind pre owned. Admittedly I did buy Black when the service got launched, but that was mainly because my PS2 version didn’t like my PS3 much.

So have you bought a 360 game this way? Or is this ‘no-disc convenience’ something thats lost on you to?

Totally pointless in my opinion. Firstly, it takes up valuable HDD space seeing I only have a 20GB. Secondly, if you have a disc, you can always sell it/trade it in for something else in the future, and thirdly, as you mentioned, you can get the games way cheaper than £20! Ridiculous service.

i like it for one reason. its one in the morning, your full of beer and you just have to play THAT game and there are no places to get it from at that time in the morning. thats about it though….
